Which NBA Teams Will Rebound Next Year?
Which NBA Teams Will Rebound Next Year?
The online sports book experts did not have to make that much of a stretch to predict that the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs would meet in the NBA finals this season. But it is also not much of a stretch to say that there are several other teams in the NBA that will be pressuring the Heat and Spurs next season. The teams that had high expectations in 2012-13 will appear on the betting sites in this offseason as favorites to shake things up in 2013-14.
Indiana Pacers
The fact that the Pacers put a huge scare into
the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals is not a fluke.
Indiana has been building up to becoming a contender for the last few
years. Now it looks like the Pacers have the roster and the
experience they need to be even stronger in 2013-14. It is not a huge
stretch so say that the Eastern Conference could look very different
next season with the Indiana Pacers at the top of the standings all
season long and going deep into the playoffs.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The sports betting sites never really considered what would happen to the Thunder if Russell Westbrook or Kevin Durant was injured. When Westbrook was hurt in the playoffs and knocked out of the competition, the Thunder fell like a stone. It was a wakeup call to Oklahoma City that it needs that third piece to become a legitimate championship contender. The fate of the Thunder will depend on what player the team gets to fill in that missing piece.
Atlanta Hawks
There is a lot of speculation around the Atlanta Hawks for next season and much of it is good. If the online betting sites are correct, then the Hawks could have Chris Paul and Dwight Howard next season. When you add a motivated Howard and the talented Paul to the young core the team already has, then you have a very strong team. Even if Atlanta does not pull in both Paul and Howard, there are still plenty of moves the team can make which will improve its fortunes next season.
Denver Nuggets
Anyone who was surprised by the success of the Denver Nuggets last season has not been paying attention to what the team has been doing for the past few years. The Nuggets made the playoffs last season after an extremely strong regular season. But it was the lack of a big man in the middle and the experience needed to win in pressure situations that held Denver back when it really counted. The Nuggets have the experience now and it is up to the team to bring in that big man which will help the Nuggets to move to the top of the ladder in a very crowded Western Conference.

NHL FINALS 2013
Week
Preview – Stanley Cup Final Moves To Boston, Likely To Go At Least
Six Games
The
coming week will include the NBA Finals and a lot of Major League
Baseball action, but lost in the middle of everything, one should not
forget what’s happening in the world of professional hockey. Sport
betting
lines will be in flux this week, as the Chicago Blackhawks go on the
road to face the Boston Bruins in Beantown for Games 3 and 4 of the
Stanley Cup Final. Game 3 is Monday in Boston, with Game 4 on
Wednesday. Game 5 of this 1-1 series will be on Saturday night back
in Chicago.
Online
football betting
students who want some variety in their betting plays will be living
on the edge as they consider any potential hockey bet this week. This
is a very hard series to pick for all the obvious reasons. These two
teams have been separated by virtually nothing in two games, and
actually, they really haven’t played two games – they’ve played
enough periods to encompass three games. Game 1 consumed almost three
full overtime periods before Chicago won in triple overtime. Game 2
lasted more than half of an overtime period before Boston squared up
the series and stayed in the hunt. These teams have played nine
periods, not six, to this point in time. The Blackhawks and Bruins
are dead even at five goals apiece. Both goaltenders, Corey Crawford
of Chicago and Tuukka Rask of Boston, have been exceptionally good.
Chicago has carried the play in the first and second periods of the
first two games, while Boston has won the third periods and the
overtimes. Fans of both teams can say that their team should be up
2-0 in the series. Chicago got jobbed on a disallowed goal call in
Game 2. Boston hit posts in overtime of Game 1 and very nearly won
that game on several occasions.
There
are some nuances for an online
horse betting
guru or a college
football betting
expert to explore here. A detail that leans in favor of Chicago is
that the Blackhawks have been strong on the road in the 2013 NHL
Playoffs when they’ve needed to call forth something special.
Chicago trailed Detroit, 3-2, in the second round and had to win on
the road in Motown in Game 6 to prolong its season. The Blackhawks
came through and then polished off the Red Wings in seven games. In
the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Kings, the
Blackhawks won Game 4 to take control of the series and grab a 3-1
lead. A loss in that contest could have ceded the upper hand to the
Kings, the determined Stanley Cup champions who made Chicago work
very hard to close out that series. Chicago should not be intimidated
by going to Boston.
On
the other hand, there’s a bit of history which points to a Boston
surge in this series: In the 2011 Stanley Cup Final against the
Vancouver Canucks, the Bruins won all three games at home in the
series, and moreover, they won those three games by a combined margin
of 17-3. Most of the current Bruins were on the 2011 team, and
they’re going to gain confidence from that reality. It’s anyone’s
series, and it seems as though this Original Six matchup – the
first in the Stanley Cup Finals since Montreal fended off the New
York Rangers in 1979 – will last at least six if not the full seven
games.
San Antonio Spurs @ Miami Heat
Spurs
Look To Put Heat Away In Game Six Of NBA Finals Tuesday
The San Antonio Spurs are one win away
from an NBA Championship celebration. The Miami Heat are one loss
away from a second failure in three seasons. While it may seem hard
for some sports
betting fans to call three-straight trips to the NBA
Finals a failure, the reality is this journey is all about the rings
for the Heat. Miami has its back against the wall once again
following a double-digit loss in game five, and while they have
responded with a win on both occasions where they were down in this
series, game six will be the toughest test of them all.
NBA
Finals – Game 6
San
Antonio Spurs @ Miami Heat
Tuesday
June 18, 2013 – 9:00 PM ET
AmericanAirlines
Arena, Miami, Florida
The Spurs don’t want to have to go a
seventh game at Miami in this series, so their focus will be on
winning game six and ending it right then and there. San Antonio’s
Big Three came up big again in game five with Manu Ginobili scoring a
breakthrough performance, and they will need to be in sync for one
last push in game six.
NBA
Betting Preview: San Antonio Spurs
Ginobili enjoyed a breakout night in
game six, scoring 24 points and dishing out 10 assists after Spurs’
head coach Gregg Popovich opted to make him a starter late. San
Antonio’s Big Three of Ginobili, Tony Parker, and Tim Duncan all
came up big, but they didn’t have to do it alone either. Danny
Green hit six more three-point shots to tie an NBA Finals record with
25 in this series, and he finished the game with 24 points. Kawhi
Leonard and Boris Diaw also came up big at both ends of the floor,
and that is what it will take to win game six. The Spurs don’t want
to go the distance on the road in this series, so look for them to
approach game six with a sense of live
betting urgency.
NBA
Betting Preview: Miami Heat
The Heat got about all they could from
Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen in game five and still somehow lost, as
those two combined for 46 points but weren’t able to close the
deficit to within double digits by the time it was done. A big part
of that is on Lebron James, who went 1-for-8 when he was marked by
Boris Diaw. Lebron still finished with 25 points, eight assists, and
six rebounds, but his inability to get the job done in the clutch
really hurt. Miami has responded with a win following every one of
its online
betting losses in this series, but Lebron will need to
be better for them to do it again this time.

NBA Betting – LeBron Faces His Foremost Moment Of Truth In The
Finals
The
Miami Heat were crushed in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. They now face a
challenge that champions are supposed to meet with determination. All
eyes are watching LeBron James.

Why
Miami Will Win
With
an online
horse betting
guru or a college
football betting
expert, the calculus of a given event should not be overrated due to
one trend. It has to be pointed out that LeBron James has faltered in
this series, but at every prior point in the 2013 NBA season, the
league MVP has done what he has needed to do to engineer a turnaround
and lead the Heat to a higher plateau. In this game, LeBron should be
able to make the course corrections that will put Miami in a good
spot.
It’s
no secret that LeBron took an already substantial amount of talent
and made it even better this season. LeBron scored at least 30 points
and hit at least 60 percent of his shots in six straight games this
season, setting an NBA record. Yes, LeBron knows how to get to the
rim, but that kind of streak depended in large part on LeBron’s
improved jump shot. LeBron worked a lot on his jumper in the
offseason, trying to make himself that much tougher for any opposing
defense to handle. When LeBron is hitting his jumper, there’s
really no way to fully shut him down. If James does get his jumper
fixed and tweaked to the point where he’s hitting it with
regularity, Miami should be able to gain leverage in this game.
The
other point that has to be added here from a Miami perspective is
that San Antonio point guard Tony Parker does not know how fit he’ll
be for Game 4 after injuring his hamstring in Game 3. If Parker is
not on the floor, the Spurs will be much more limited at the
offensive end – not in terms of their shooting ability, but in
terms of their passing and ball movement. One also has to acknowledge
that the Spurs aren’t likely to hit 16 threes in a game again, as
they did in Game 3 on Tuesday. The limits of LeBron’s struggles and
the limits of the Spurs’ excellence point to a Miami bounce-back in
Game 4.
Why
San Antonio Will Win
Online
football betting
students who want to add a little intrigue to their week might be
interested in making a play on the favorite in this game. The Spurs
certainly have reason to be confident after their 36-point blowout of
the Heat in Game 3. They also know that they are in LeBron James’
head at this point in the series.
In
this series, San Antonio is giving LeBron the jump shot in this
series because it knows that it is so important to keep him away from
both the rim and the free throw line. This is an entirely sound and
logical tactic by Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, but the mystery
for Miami is that LeBron is not hitting midrange or three-point
jumpers even though San Antonio is giving him all the space he wants
when he’s 18 or more feet from the basket. LeBron, though, is not
handling this dynamic well. He is clearly pressing in this series,
calling to mind his strangely disjointed display the last time the
Heat played a team from the state of Texas in the NBA Finals, in 2011
against the Dallas Mavericks. LeBron never really broke out of his
slump in the middle games of that series. The fact that LeBron has
struggled in all three games of this series, not just one or two,
makes it entirely reasonable to conclude that James will labor and
fail in Game 4 as well.
Who
Will Win?
The
sense here is that this will be a seven-game series. Given that San
Antonio is leading now, Miami should be able to fight back and even
this series at 2-2 heading into Game 5 on Sunday.
NBA
Betting Pick: Miami +1.5
Winning Parlay Pick: Spurs -1.5
