Game Time Picks

Today the NBA has a full line up of games. How about them Lakers last night, horrific free throw performance. They pretty much out performed Dallas in every other category but free throws. I know what they'll be working on tonight during pre-game. The games in bold letters are the ones that I'm debating over and have liked since the lines came up.The schedule and lines for today's game are.....

Really want to take the lakers but, for now I think I will hold up.

  • Indiana Pacers -2 (away) vs Toronto Raptors (home)

  • Denver Nuggets -2 (away) vs Philadelphia 76ers (home)

  • Houston Rockets +2 (away) vs Detroit Pistons (home)

  • San Antonio -7 (away) vs New Orleans (home)

  • Sacramento Kings +7 (away) vs Chicago Bulls (home)

  • Dallas Mavericks +8 (away) vs Utah Jazz ( home)

  • Golden State Warriors +2 (away) vs Phoenix Suns (home)

  • Memphis Grizzlies +4 ( away) vs Los Angeles Clippers (home)

  • Los Angeles Lakers -2.5 (away) vs Portland Blazers (home)

My money line parlay is listed below, sorry to the late post. I did not realize that the Philadelphia 76ers were playing a 19:10 game, thought it was a 20:10.

NBA Opening Night

http://www.betphoenixaffiliate.com/idevaffiliate.php?id=2301

NBA opening night is finally here. Tonight presents a lot of big stars, from King James, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Deron Williams and Dirk Nowitzki (he might not play tonight though) just to name a few. The game I will be looking most forward to seeing is of course the Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics. Obvious reason being that I have the Heat ml to finish of my two teamer I started yesterday with the San Francisco Giants. Other then that reason, I do believe that it will be a good match up too. With the raising the banner ceremony and championship ring presentation alone will be enough to get the Miami Heat hyped enough to face their rival Celtics. Plus the big three is no longer Garnett, Pierce, and Allen, so it's going to be a little interesting seeing Ray Allen facing his former team the Celtics in a Miami uniform. Plenty of history behind this game is what makes tonight's opening game match up so exciting. Lets Go Heat!!!

Other games tonight are Lakers (Home) -9 vs Mavericks. Curious to see all the stars for the Lakers adjust to each other as this team will only get better as the season progresses you'd have to think.

The third match up for tonight is Cleveland Cavaliers (Home) -6 vs Washington Wizards which is currently in progress right now. Right now it's a close one and I believe it will remain close. Probably won't pay much attention though to this one.

Looking forward to this season, lots of powerhouse teams this year.

Game Time Picks MNF Week 8

Alright time for another MNF showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals. Leading the NFC West the 49ers 5-2 is looking to keep it rolling vs the struggling 4-3 Cardinals. The cardinals are on a three game losing streak and have been struggling to score points lately. While the 49ers themselves haven't been lighting up the scoreboard the previous two games they had vs Giants and Seahawks. You know they are capable of doing so especially with their tough and very physical defense. I believe this game will be a good close game. The oddsmakers have the 49ers at -7 and the over at 37.5 for the game. Covering that -7 will be kinda rough for those who take it, but as you know by now, I'm all about the money lines. So with limited games tonight, below is the parlay I chose to go with. A two day parlay as I call it.

Lets go San Fran

I know the odds at -132 for a parlay isn't all that great, but a win is a win. As long as I win, is all that really matters.

San Diego Chargers

Well I did not hit my parlay this time due to San Diego Chargers losing to Cleveland Browns 7-6. I understand the weather didn't really help the offenses this game but still, very disappointed here. The Bears on the other hand, even they had a poor offense this game, did come through in the end with a game winning field goal. Bears will remain an A Lister of teams to bet on in the NFL, San Diego on the other hand not so much. This was the first time I've wagered on San Diego this year and this is what happens. Overall I am 1 for 1 on my posted parlays this weekend, I'm a little ahead so not too disappointed but could be sitting real nice right about now. I'll take my loss like a man and stop dwelling, not sure if I will have any more action for tonight, even though I am tempted to take Giants money line. I will be watching them and see what the second half lines look like.

Should be a good one. Lets go Giants

Congrats to the Bears and Cutler for keep finding ways to win.

Betting Strategies 101 - Chase

CHASE: Chasing a bet for me might mean a little different from the popular meaning of a chase bet. For most sport bettors a Chase bet might mean betting on an underdog, really popular in baseball being that they play a series of three games or more. Lets say Royals are playing Yankees in a three game series, you would've to bet on the royals to win with this type of betting style. Basically your game plan would be, you would bet $25 on the Royals game one, if you happen to lose then game two you would have to bet $50 on the Royals, lose that game then game three you would have to wager $100 on the royals. The goal being that you are trying to win one game of that series because the odds for a game like this would probably be somewhere around +300. So let's say Royals end up winning in game three. You would have made a profit of about $125, not bad for going 1 for 2. The Chase betting strategy can be implemented in various ways, depending on the bettors style of betting. It is not a bad strategy to  use if you have the bank roll to do it.

For me though chasing a bet means chasing a lost wager. Meaning that lets say you place a two team parlay during the day and you end up losing. Instead of taking the loss and moving on you decide to search for a secondary wager. A wager that you probably wouldn't be placing if you had won that first wager. I have had this happen to me lots and lots of times, especially during the first few years of my sports gambling. I would place a wager that I really like and when I would lose that wager I would get angry, frustrated, and impatient. With all my emotions mixed together, this really brings a fine recipe for disaster. I would begin to search for games that would be on later on that evening and try to place another bet. This type of bet is considered to me as a chase bet. You are angry and in no condition to make a reasonable wager at this point. All you are thinking about is, I can not believe I just lost my last wager, now I am going to place another wager, because I don't have the patience to wait for a new day and start fresh. I am not saying that you will always lose chasing a lost wager, but I am saying betting when you are already angry isn't aways the best time to make decisions about a  new game you want to wager on. The best thing I've noticed is after losing a game, especially a parlay that comes down to the last team and that last team losses, is to take a breather, curse the crap out of the team that cost you the parlay, and wait until the next day or next time you see a wager you really like and place that bet then.

College Football Week 9

Ok, so it is time once again to get ready for this upcoming weekends football match ups. Kicking it off on Saturday with college football, these are the games I'm looking at. With so many big game match ups like the Florida Gators -7 at Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Tech +7.5 at Kansas St -7.5, Notre Dame +11.5 at Oklahoma -11.5, this will be a good weekend for football fans. Now as you become to familiarize yourself with my betting style you will see that I tend to take a lot of money lines. So this being said, the games of interest for me this weekend are Toledo -7.5 vs Buffalo +7.5 and at this point I'm thinking Toledo money line. Kansas State -7.5 vs Texas State +7.5, Id take Kansas State Money line for this match up. I will post  my parlay for this weekend but as for now, it is looking like Toledo money line, Kansas State money line and New England Patriots Money line at a 2.29 price bet for a three team parlay.

NFL Monday Night Game Recap

Well week 7 comes to an end with the Bears coming up with the victory over the Detroit Lions. The score shows the game closer then it really was. The Bears defense pretty much did its job and kept the Lions out of the end zone for the majority of the game, it wasn't till the last 30 seconds that Detroit finally managed to score a touchdown. The Bears offense didn't put up as much points as I thought they would, but the defense played just like I predicted they would. I ended up placing a couple of wagers just for fun a few minutes before the game, and to my luck it paid off pretty well. Below are the wagers I placed for the MNF game.

Pretty sure Cutler is my new favorite Qb

I'd like to thank the Chicago Bears and Jay Cutler for making my day at the office a stress free night.
Congratulations on your win and you've been added to my list of favorite NFL teams to bet on for now, now lets just keep up the good work.

Now lets get them ribs better, so we can make some more money next week.

NFL Monday Night Game

Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions
Monday October 22, 2012 features today's Monday night football game between the first place bears 4-1 and the last place Lions 2-3 in the NFC North. On paper picking the bears looks like the smart decision here. I haven't really been impressed with the lions play since week one. I think the Bears defense has been playing well enough and offense has been on point which will allow them to walk away with a win tonight. My sports book http://www.oddsmaker.com/refer.php?ID=edsta212 has the Bears at -6.5 over Lions with the over/under at 46.5. Not sure if I will have any action on this game, might wait till half time and see if any second half bets look attractive. Not enough games on board for tonight for me to place my money line parlay pick. I looked at the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals game for tonight and was thinking of taking a parlay of Bears and St. Louis but, I'm not so sure Cardinals pull it off in tonight's NLCS GAME 7 SHOWDOWN. I would like to see who everyone is picking against the spread in tonight's game. Look for my poll for tonight's game or post a comment on this post, tell me if you would take -6.5 for Bears or +6.5 for Lions. Thanks in advance for your comments and picks.

Parlays

Parlays are said to be for the amateur and inexperienced type bettor. It is often said that bettors should stick to straight bets if they wanna make a respectable profit in the long run. It is difficult enough to call one game, adding two or more games make it that much more difficult to win as your odds of winning decrease. With all that being said, throughout my betting years of over a decade now, strangely I have found the most success in betting money line parlays. The success I have had is the reason I chose to write this blog.

The purpose of this blog is to provide winning parlay picks as the title says. Everyday I will review the daily game match ups and if I see a game I like, I will post that game on my blog. Being in the sports betting profession for as long as I have, has allowed me to make lots and lots of mistakes gambling and as a result gain some much needed experience from my mistakes. I will use my years of experience to hopefully help other sport bettors, whether they are in it for fun or plan to stick with it in the long run. They are a lot of factors that are important and allow you to have a long and respectable sports betting career, but the key factors I have found are having a nice sizable bank roll that fits your budget and lots and lots of PATIENCE. I can't even emphasize how important it is to have patience. I can't even count how many times my lack of patience has cost me in wagers and tons and tons of money.

Parlays are by far my favorite type of wager. They offer bigger payoffs from a small wager. If you are familiar with sports betting, then you most likely already know what a parlay is, if not I will explain. A parlay is a wager that includes two or more bets and all bets must win for you to win your wager. So lets say you take a two team parlay that has they New York Yankees to beat the Kansas City Royals, and St Louis Cardinals to beat they Chicago Cubs, both they Yankees and Cardinals would have to win for you to win your wager.

They are different ways that you can place your parlay wagers. You can bet a parlay using point spreads, money line, or a combination of both. My page titled Types of Sport Bets explains what the different types of wagers mean. When betting a parlay with point spreads, all teams involved must cover the spread assigned to them for you to win your bet. The odds giving when betting with point spread parlays are highly attractive. You can view the odds for yourself below. This link http://parlaycalculator.com/ provides you with a parlay calculator that lets you key in different odds and then the payout.

2 teams 13-5
3 teams 6-1
4 teams 10-1
5 teams 25-1
6 teams 40-1
7 teams 75-1
8 teams 150-1
9 teams 300-1
10 teams 600-1

Money line parlays differ tremendously from a point spread parlay because they do not have fixed odds. As a result you will probably notice that your odds can be higher than point spread parlays, but they can also be a lot lower. The variable that will change your odds when betting money line parlays is how much better one team is compared to their opponent, taking favors will give you lower odds, while taking underdogs will increase your odds. The nice thing about money lines is that you will not have to worry about your team having to cover the spread.

NFL WEEK 7 RECAP

Well Sunday's NFL games are pretty much over and done with. I had a good week with both my posted picks coming up on top. I had Greenbay Packers to win straight up and the NY Giants to win straight up on a two team parlay. Aaron rodgers came through with another great performance after going beast mode in week 6 with six touchdown passes. This week he threw for 342 yards and added three more touchdowns as the Packers top St. Louis 30-20. Eli Manning led his Giants to yet another great victory. This time Eli did it in the last 1:13 left in the game when he connected on a 77yd touchdown pass to Victor Cruz to beat the Washington Redskins 27-23.
